um-hey

um-hey asks the local pi CLI a question and keeps the answer in a timestamped scratch directory.

Setup

This tool is machine-specific. It needs:

• pi on PATH.
• ~/work/hey/prompt.md — the system prompt used for every question.
• ~/work/hey/skills — the skills directory passed to pi.

Without these files um-hey fails with an error from cat or pi.

Usage

um-hey "what is a werewolf"

The question becomes a slug (first five words, lowercased, 40 characters, prefixed with a timestamp). um-hey creates ~/work/tmp/hey_scratch/<slug>/, changes into it, and runs pi in print mode with the hey prompt and skills. The exit status is pi's exit status.
